The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) conducts a Comprehensive Quality Review (CQR) at the end of the eight-year period prior to KCC's scheduled Reaffirmation of Accreditation. The CQR is a visit by five "peer reviewers" who engage the college in discussions about its Action Projects, initiatives featured in the Systems Portfolio, and strategies designed through the Strategy Forum.
The CQR team also will review results from any concerns or issues raised in the last Systems Appraisal, particularly in relation to the Criteria for Accreditation and Core Components. The team may also handle a review of multi-campuses, distance education, and federal documentation.
A key feature of the visit is the requirement for KCC to publish basic information about the visit in appropriate publications and invite the public to provide written comments to HLC which are forwarded to the visit reviewers.
The final report of the CQR visit team and the documentation that informs the report (e.g., past Systems Portfolios and Appraisals, Action Projects Updates/Review information, federal documentation, etc.) serve as the basis for reaffirming KCC's accreditation.

The next CQR is scheduled for Feb. 15-17, 2016. The Comprehensive Quality Review is two and one-half days and replaces the Quality Checkup visit. KCC has prepared the following materials for the CQR:
