Update is the main source for communication to KCC employees.
Whenever it is feasible, events and announcements are added to Online Update within one business day of the request. In most cases, articles are posted the same day if the request is received prior to 1:30 p.m.
To assure that an item appears in the Monday email, the request should be made before 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Update vs. mass email
Because Update is the main communication channel for the college, the Office of Marketing and Public Relations reserves mass emails for situations which warrant immediate action or attention.
Strong consideration is given to whether or not the information could be included in Update.

To request an Update item or a mass email to all staff, contact Kari Nugent or Ellen Schmidt in the Marketing Office.
Update is delivered in several ways so employees can choose how they receive college information.
Stay informed by using one or more of these options.
Daily Update has all online Update announcements and events in one place. Announcements are shown with the most recent posts on top and are visible until they expire. Events appear in date order and are visible until the event ends.
Announcement and event titles link to full article. Recent Updates lists announcements posted within the past seven days and events scheduled for the next seven days.
Weekly Update email
The weekly Update email is sent on Monday mornings. It includes
- announcements posted in the last seven days
- events which will occur during the coming week
- links to announcements which have been online for more than a week
- links to events which are more than a week away
- new videos posted to KCC's You Tube channel
- links to other helpful sites for employees like job postings, evening administrator/advisor, food service menu, candid comments, KCC on Facebook, and KCC on Twitter.
RSS feeds deliver a notification to your Outlook mailbox whenever an item is added to Online Update. You can open it like an email and see the content of the article or event.

All college publications, including articles submitted to Update, are subject to edits for clarity, brevity, accuracy and adherence to AP style before being posted. Articles written in the style of first-person may include a "submitted by" notation.
