Guide to KCC online resources

Use your KCC user ID to access the computers on campus and online resources on My KCC​.

KCC user ID and password

  • Your KCC user ID is created within one business day after
     your application is submitted to KCC
  • The initial password is the last six-digits of your Social
     Security Number or ‘999999’ depending what was given
     during the application process
  • If you are a returning student, your password will be the
     same as your last login with KCC

Finding your KCC user ID

  1. Go to https://connect.kcc.edu
  2. Choose “What’s My User ID?”.
  3. Enter your last name.
  4. Enter your Social Security Number or KCC Student ID number.
  5. Click “Submit”.

Accessing online courses

In My KCC: Go to Canvas under “College Applications”

  • Courses are accessible in Canvas by 8 a.m. the first day of the course.

Enrolling in password self-service

Password Self-Service allows you to reset a forgotten password remotely from any device.In My KCC: Go to Password Self-Service under “Bookmarks and Links”

  • New users will be prompted to enroll. 
  • Provide answers for up to five security questions
  • You can set up an SMS Verification Code or Google
     Authenticator App.
  • After registering, go to password.kcc.edu to reset a
     password.

 

Register online

To register online, you must meet these requirements:

  • A Master Academic Plan is required for degree seeking students.
  • Completed New Student Orientation.
  • Enroll in, or have completed, one-credit hour or more
     at KCC in the past three years (not including 0900-0999
     courses).
  • Have a KCC GPA of 2.0 or higher (if the current semester/
     term is your first at KCC – this requirement is waived).

Steps to register online

  1.  In My KCC: Go to Self-Service under “College
     Applications”
  2. Click Student Planning > Go to Plan & Schedule >
     Timeline > Add a Term
  3. Add the term you want to register for.
  4. For each course, click on “View Other Sections” under
     the course title.
  5. Hover over the available sections (this will highlight the
     sections on your calendar).
  6. Click “Add Section to Schedule” in the pop-up window
     (repeat for remaining courses).
  7.  Click “Register Now.”
    After registering, check your KCC email account for
    registration confirmation.
  8. For each course, click on “View Other Sections” under
     the course title.
  9.  Hover over the available sections (this will highlight the
     sections on your calendar).
  10.  Click “Add Section to Schedule” in the pop-up window
     (repeat for remaining courses).
  11.  Click “Register Now.”
     After registering, check your KCC email account for
     registration confirmation.

Pay for classes

In My KCC: Go to Self Service under “College Applications” Click the menu > Financial Information > Student Finance

    • Choose Make a Payment to pay in full using a credit card
    • Choose Nelnet Payment Plan to set up monthly payments

Opt-in for emergency and information text alerts

In My KCC: Go to Self-Service under “College Applications”

    1. Click the user icon > User Profile > Add New Phone
       (under Phone Numbers)
    2. Enter you cell phone number
    3. Choose phone type “Receive KCC Text Alerts”
    4. You will receive a confirmation text message from 67587
       within 24 hours
    5. Reply “Y” to activate the service
