Western Illinois University offers an online Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Degree Program that provides place-bound students an opportunity to earn a regionally accredited bachelor's degree. The degree does not designate a major and allows the flexibility to develop a multi-disciplinary and carefully focused course of study.
Of the 120 required semester hours, 30 must be completed through Western Illinois University. You may transfer up to 80 semester hours from a community college.
Admission to the degree program requires either an Associate in Science (A.S.), an Associate in Arts (A.A.), or the IAI general education core curriculum, or the WIU general education curriculum.
Students must hold a "C" average for all work attempted; be in good standing at the last college or university attended; have successfully completed a minimum of 60 semester hours of coursework at a regionally accredited institution or earned an accredited associate degree.
Refer to admission requirements on WIU's online General Studies Degree Program website.
