KCC has partnered with the University of Illinois Online to offer an RN to BSN online bachelor’s degree completion program.

University of Illinois Bachelor of Science in Nursing

To gain admission to the bachelor’s degree in nursing program, students are required to have completed an associate degree in nursing.

The program is designed for registered nurses wishing to complete their bachelor’s degrees and build a foundation for leadership in one of the fastest growing professions in the U.S. The B.S.N. program has no residency requirement, and practicum experiences have been designed to be completed in the student’s region.

The 30-credit-hour program can be completed in as few as 16 months. Each class is eight-weeks. It is offered in partnership with the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Eastern Illinois University offers an online Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Degree Program in a format and structure compatible with adult responsibilities.

The program is a non-traditional approach to obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies.

Students who have completed an Associate in Science, Associate in Arts, Associate in General Studies or Associate in Applied Science degree with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average may be admitted to the EIU B.G.S. degree program at the junior level once the required application and supporting documentation have been submitted.

You might be eligible for a great program that would help you earn your Associate degree and Bachelor’s degree in the least amount of semesters possible and save money on tuition costs. If you have completed between 12 and 45 credit hours (with some program exceptions) at Kankakee Community College and have been a full-time student, you are eligible to be a participant in the Dual Degree Program (DDP).

Dual Degree Program

The Dual Degree Program (DDP) is a unique partnership between KCC and GSU that provides full-time students with an excellent pathway to earn quality, accessible, and affordable associate and bachelor’s degrees. Learn more about the DDP on the KCC DDP page.

DDP KCC Benefits

You have nothing to lose—and everything to gain—by enrolling in the DDP. All DPP students receive:

1. Personalized academic advising at the community college and GSU to help you explore your academic/career interests and complete your associate and bachelor’s degrees in the least amount of semesters possible.
2. Access to support services at GSU including the libraries, computer labs, fitness center, etc.
3. Ability to participate in student life, clubs, and academic program events at KCC and GSU

Your enrollment in the DDP will not limit your transfer options in any way. You don’t have to attend GSU by enrolling in the DDP. If you do decide to transfer to GSU, you will have many advantages that won’t be available to non-DDP students:

• Your admission to GSU will be guaranteed.
• Your GSU tuition rate will be locked in when you enroll in DDP–and that rate will be good for two years after you start at GSU.
• If eligible, compete for one of the many GSU Promise Scholarships or DDP Honors Scholarships.

The KCC/Roosevelt Dual Degree program provides an excellent pathway for full-time students to earn quality, accessible, affordable associate and bachelor’s degrees close to home.

Studies show that students who complete an associate degree before transfer are more likely to earn a bachelor’s degree, and they do so in a shorter period of time.

You are eligible if you:

• Are a full-time KCC student.
• You have successfully completed 24-30 credit hours and are in good academic standing (courses transferred to KCC may be included).

Your KCC and Roosevelt advisors will work with you while you are a student at KCC to ensure your academic plan enables you to graduate with your associate degree and transfer all of your credits to Roosevelt. If you follow their advice, you will not lose any credits when you transfer.

Apply before you’ve earned 30 KCC credit hours, preferably during your second semester at KCC.

Benefits

If you enroll in the Dual Degree program, complete your associate degree at KCC and transfer to Roosevelt you receive

• Guaranteed admission to Roosevelt University (some Roosevelt baccalaureate programs may have additional admission requirements)
• Dual Degree Program Guaranteed Tuition Discount Plan for up to three years
• Invitation to compete for Roosevelt scholarships, if eligible

Scholarships and Merit Aid

Beginning in Fall 2015, KCC Dual Degree program participants will be eligible for the following scholarships and merit aid:

• Presidential Partnership Scholarship - $15,000/year
• Provost Partnership Scholarship - $12,500/year
• Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - additional $1,000 award
• Dual Degree program awards - $1,000 for all KCC graduates transferring to Roosevelt University

KCC has partnered with Chamberlain College of Nursing to provide access to high quality nursing education programs at a group tuition rate.

Chamberlain’s R.N. to B.S.N. degree option is 100% online. KCC students are eligible for a special partner group tuition rate for four degree programs and there is no application fee.

Olivet Nazarene University has partnered with KCC to provide a bachelor’s degree program for KCC’s RN students. Under the terms of this partnership, KCC students will qualify for a 20% discount on the per-credit-hour price of tuition for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-to-BSN) program.

Program Specifics/Requirements

• A cohort group of at least 12 students is needed
• On-ground classes will typically meet from 5:30-9:30 p.m. one evening per week
• A schedule outlining dates for the entire program will be created prior to program start
• All students must complete all relative application/registration requirements before starting the program
• A one-time application fee of $50 must be paid by every student

The University of St. Francis in Joliet has partnered with KCC to offer an online accelerated program for students who have an associate degree in nursing to complete a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Admission Requirements

Requirements for admission into the BSN Fast Track Program:

• Passed the NCLEX examination and be a registered nurse
• Minimum of 60-64 semester hours of transfer credit
• Minimum of 15 semester hours in lower division general education including coursework in communications, social & behavioral science, math & science, humanities & fine arts
• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
• Completion of the admission application process

Note: A maximum of 80 semester hours will transfer from any community college.

To be eligible for admission into NIU’s Bachelor in Science degree completion program in technology, with an emphasis in applied manufacturing technology, you must have completed–-or be working to complete-–an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a technology-oriented related field.
