The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) provides unemployment insurance, employment services and guidance to workers, job seekers, and employers. IDES combines federally-funded job training programs in Illinois into a single "workforce development" system where individuals can find a job or train for a new career.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration, the O*NET program database contains occupational information including hundreds of standardized and occupation-specific descriptors. It is available to the public at no cost and is continually updated.
The Grundy Livingston Kankakee Workforce Board helps enhance workforce quality to meet regional needs. It is part of a national network of organizations involved in workforce preparation and employment. Programs are designed to meet the needs of both the communities' businesses and job seekers.
