Get familiarized with the basic fundamentals of using Windows operating systems, internet, and personal email. The workshop will also cover the basics fundamentals of saving, transferring, and downloading files.
Basics of Excel and Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word and Excel are two of the most frequently used multipurpose tools within today's office setting. This familiarization workshop will introduce you the basic functions of these platforms.
Digital Job Search Strategy
Long gone are the days of the paper job-application and our local newspaper being the primary place to search for jobs. In this workshop you will learn to prepare your digital footprint using LinkedIn and Social Media to cast your net into today's pool of employers.
Resume Development
This workshop teaches you the purpose of a Resume and it's basic parts. Learn how to craft your Resume to stand out in the stack. Upon completion of the workshop, feel free to utilize the Resource room to begin or improve your Resume draft. It is recommended to possess computer basic skills, as you will be utilizing Microsoft Work to create and edit your draft.
Resume Software & Resume Review
Students and community members may obtain a free resume review by emailing their draft to careerservices@kcc.edu to receive courtesy feedback on how to improve their draft. Please note, we do not develop a resume for you, you must submit a draft with all your information to be reviewed. If you need assistance in developing your resume, you are welcome to use the resource room located at Kankakee Workforce Services and use the available software.
